Colorado law is 'wake-up call' for AI developers, deployers, lawyers say

By Mike Swift ( April 28, 2025, 23:26 GMT | Insight) -- The Colorado Artificial Intelligence Act, a law that draws from the EU's AI Act, “should be a wake-up call” for developers and deployers of AI systems because it could trigger other states to pass similar laws, even as any spurious "AI washing" claims made to consumers about the capabilities of an AI system are highly likely to draw close scrutiny by the US Federal Trade Commission and state regulators, members of the ABA’s AI law task force said today at the RSAC conference in San Francisco.
