Thomson Reuters opposes quick appeal in US copyright case

( April 24, 2025, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Thomson Reuters opposed ROSS Intelligence’s petition for a US appeals court to certify for immediate appeal a summary judgment in favor of Thomson Reuters on direct copyright infringement of certain Westlaw headnotes and against Ross’ affirmative defenses. “ROSS asks this court to depart from the normal finality rule and permit an interlocutory appeal to review de novo the district court’s summary judgment order thoughtfully applying well-worn copyright principles to the specific facts of this case,” it said.
