US threatens to restrict animal import commodities from Mexico

( April 28, 2025, 17:37 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex sumamry: US Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins sent a letter to her Mexican counterpart demanding an end to restrictions on American aircraft that combats the spread of the parasitic New World Screwworm or risk import limitations on animal commodities. Rollins also demanded Mexico waive customs duties on eradication equipment to contain the Screwworm. If the demands are not met by Wednesday, Rollins said the US would restrict imports from Mexico of live cattle, bison, and equine.See attached file....
