Some states may recover penalties, seek injunction against Google in Texas adtech suit

( April 25, 2025, 14:42 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A Texas-led multistate coalition asked a US federal court to deny Google's motion to strike the states' demand for a jury trial in an adtech monopolization suit, saying some of them, like Mississippi, can seek disgorgement and restitution while others, such as Kentucky, can seek injunctive relief under common law. The Eastern District of Texas had allowed additional supplemental briefing on issues specific to Arkansas, Idaho, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Puerto Rico. States argued that the US court has jurisdiction over Puerto Rico’s Deceptive Trade Practices Act claims. Arkansas and Idaho also may recover civil penalties and seek injunctive relief, they said in a court filing. See attached document...
