Landlords from outside Washington move to get out of US price-fixing case over rent prices

( April 21, 2025, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Multifamily property managers outside of Washington moved for dismissal in a US antitrust case accusing them of conspiring to set rental prices, arguing that the court lacks jurisdiction. “The limited liability companies that bring this motion have no ties to Washington. They do not manage properties in Washington, rent to residents in Washington, advertise to Washington renters, operate offices in Washington, or conduct any business in the state. The non-resident LLC defendants additionally have no affiliation with the other ‘landlord defendants’ named in the consolidated class action complaint who do specifically operate within Washington,” they said.
