Kenvue, Boehringer, Haleon fined in Belgium for coordinating on drug placement (corrects*)

( April 24, 2025, 13:21 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Kenvue, Boehringer Ingelheim and Haleon have been fined 11.2 million euros in Belgium for illegally coordinating on a “category management arrangement,” where they jointly decided which over-the-counter medicines should be displayed where on Belgian pharmacy shelves.* The national competition watchdog said the agreement, which lasted more than 15 years, saw them reserve better shelf space for their own products, to the disadvantage of competitors. It said there was little precedent to today’s sanction, meaning it provided evidence on “what can go wrong” with category management arrangements, which are a common commercial practice.  *Corrected on April 25, 2025 at 17:44 GMT: A previous version of this statement listed Johnson & Johnson as one of the companies that was sanctioned. But J&J spun off a "consumer" business in 2023, which was renamed Kenvue. J&J is not an addressee of the decision, a spokesperson for the company said.   Statement follows....
