Meta, AliExpress implement corrective orders from South Korean privacy regulator

By Wooyoung Lee ( April 24, 2025, 10:06 GMT | Insight) -- Meta will ask third-party apps to confirm whether they have deleted user data sourced from Facebook, following a Supreme Court ruling that upheld South Korea’s privacy regulator’s sanctions over the company’s data-sharing practices. Meta's compliance was reported as part of the regulator's follow-up to verify companies are implementing corrective orders. AliExpress also reported it has enhanced its data management practices in response to the corrective orders that came with a fine of 19.8 billion won ($14.3 million).  Meta will ask third-party apps to confirm whether they have deleted user data sourced from Facebook, following a Supreme Court ruling that upheld South Korea’s privacy regulator’s sanctions over the company’s data-sharing practices, the Personal Information Protection Commission, or PIPC, said....
