South Korean convenience store chains settle allegations in consent decree

The Korea Fair Trade Commission today said it has approved and finalized the voluntary corrective measures proposed by the four chains. Under the agreement, the companies will reduce the penalties they impose for delayed deliveries to levels in line with others in the retail sector and apply reasonable standards when charging suppliers marketing fees for new products. The measures also include the provision of support packages totaling 8.3 billion won ($5.8 million) to help suppliers improve productivity and invest in technological development, as well as the provision of advertising and sales data to suppliers.The statement, in Korean, is attached....
