South Korea takes further steps to lift AI use in distribution sector

( April 23, 2025, 07:14 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea’s industry ministry announced the establishment of a largely private sector-led alliance among distribution companies, artificial intelligence developers and financing companies to enhance adoption of AI in the distribution sector. The alliance was formed as part of policy measures announced in late 2024, which are designed to help raise AI adoption rates in the local distribution sector to 30 percent over three years from less than 3 percent at present, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. It said about 40 companies and institutions are participating in the alliance, which comprises three divisions overseeing technology development, support for startups and promotion of data utilization.The statement, in Korean, is attached....
