Chinese prosecutors review efforts on IP protection in report on 2024

( April 23, 2025, 04:23 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China's national prosecutors at all levels of government reviewed 7,646 intellectual property crime cases — resulting in the arrest of 13,486 individuals — and processed 13,767 cases involving 33,805 individuals for examination and prosecution over the past year, according to the 2024 Supreme Procuratorate's IP prosecution's white paper on its work released today. Among these, 81 percent involved trademark infringement, while copyright and trade secret cases also increased. Additionally, 1,764 civil cases led to the supervision of 1,143 effective judgments. Public interest litigation reached 896 cases, including 734 administrative and 162 civil cases, and antimonopoly and anti-unfair competition litigation increased by 81.8 percent to 60 cases.The white paper follows:...
