Canadian software company VirtaMove wins US dismissal of Red Hat lawsuit

Red Hat — acquired by IBM in 2019 for $34 billion — was denied leave to add factual details about VirtraMove’s more recent legal wrangling with Microsoft Corp. and Oracle Corp., with the California federal judge assigned to the case finding “no affirmative act whatsoever” taken by VirtraMove against the North Carolina-based plaintiff.Red Hat is facing no imminent threat of legal action by VirtraMove Corp. in connection with “OpenShift” — a software platform which makes use of open-source containerization technologies “Docker” and “Kubernetes,” US Judge P.
