Missouri farmer must pay nearly $1 million for replanting Bayer soybean seeds

( April 21, 2025, 15:54 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A US Eastern District of Missouri judge ruled Friday that Greg Duffy must pay nearly $1 million in liquidated damages after he admitted to replanting Bayer Cropsciences's patented soybean seeds for three seasons, in violation of a terms-of-use agreement. Judge John Ross granted Bayer's motion for summary judgment, holding that Duffy admitted to patent infringement, breach of contract, tortious interference and negligence, and granted a permanent injunction.
