Stryker accuses German rival Fiagon of patent infringement at USITC

( April 21, 2025, 17:49 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Stryker Corp. asked the US International Trade Commission on Friday to bar the importation of German rival Fiagon AG Medical Technologies’ balloon dilation devices, used to treat sinuses, in a complaint alleging violations of Section 301 of the Tariff Act. Stryker claimed that Fiagon’s VenSure dilation devices infringe Stryker’s patents for its own XprESS dilation device. The company seeks an exclusion order as well as a cease-and-desist to halt importation, sales and advertising. The commission will solicit comments relating to the public interest, including whether barring the importation of VenSure devices would harm public health, safety or welfare. Stryker argued that its own devices could replace Fiagon’s in the marketplace and that an exclusion order would not adversely impact consumers.See the complaint attached....
