Harley-Davidson wins 'Eagle' logo trademark case in Indian court

The Delhi High Court granted the American motorcycle icon a permanent injunction against Vijaypal Dhayal, owner of Red Rose Industries, for trademark and copyright infringement of its "Eagle" logo. Delhi High Court Judge Amit Bansal deemed it a "clear case of infringement" due to nearly identical artistic elements, overlapping consumer bases and identical sales channels, noting the likelihood of consumer confusion and potential harm to Harley-Davidson's goodwill. Harley-Davidson, the iconic American motorcycle manufacturer, successfully defended its "Eagle" logo in an intellectual property dispute in India....
