States file brief in support of reversing Bedoya, Slaughter firings from US FTC

( April 18, 2025, 20:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: More than 20 state attorneys general filed an amicus brief in support of former US Federal Trade Commissioners Alvaro Bedoya and Rebecca Slaughter’s lawsuit alleging they were illegally fired from the commission. The states and Washington, DC, have a vested interest in the lawsuit because “amici States regularly work with the FTC to pool resources on investigations and litigation to protect consumers and maintain competition in the American economy.
