Lawsuit against Character.AI in Texas should be sent to arbitration, Google argues

( March 10, 2025, 23:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google and Character.AI co-founders Noam Shazeer and Daniel De Freitas argue that a federal lawsuit in Texas alleging they exposed children to an unsafe chatbot should be sent to arbitration. Parents' claims are subject to binding individual arbitration because of Character.AI's terms of service agreements, even though they didn't sign them.
