Terminated PCLOB members file reply in support of judgment for reinstatement

( April 16, 2025, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Travis LeBlanc and Edward Felten, two former Democrat members of the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board who were fired by President Donald Trump, filed a reply in support of their motion for summary judgment asking a federal judge to find their firings illegal and reinstate them. “Defying more binding precedent, the defendants ask this Court to replace the traditional tools of statutory interpretation with a magic-words requirement. In their view, no matter how clearly Congress indicated that officers were intended to be independent from presidential supervision and removal, the President may remove them at will unless the statute explicitly references for-cause removal,” they argued.
