Qteq found guilty of attempting to induce cartel arrangements, Australian regulator says

( April 17, 2025, 04:09 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Oil and gas services company Qteq and its executive director Simon Ashton have been found guilty by an Australian court of engaging in cartel conduct, the Australian competition regulator announced. In a statement today, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission Chair Gina Cass-Gottlieb said that today’s decision should send a strong warning to all businesses and senior managers that attempting to enter or induce collusive agreements will be met with strong enforcement action by the ACCC. The statement said that the Federal Court of Australia found that between 2017 and 2019, on five occasions, Qteq and Ashton attempted to induce suppliers in the industry to enter into contracts, arrangements or understandings.The full statement by the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission follows:...
