Japan's top hotels to get cartel warning from competition regulator

Amid rising hotel fees because of increasing numbers of foreign visitors, the antitrust authority is understood to have decided to issue an early warning to the 15 hotels rather than pursue a full cartel investigation for corrective orders. Operators of high-end hotels in Tokyo, including Okura, Imperial and New Otani, are set to receive a warning from the Japan Fair Trade Commission, or JFTC, for exchanging confidential information that could have led to a cartel....
