House report says DeepSeek is national security threat with boost from US chips

( April 16, 2025, 20:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex summary: A report by the US House Select Committee on China says that the Chinese artificial intelligence platform DeepSeek compromised American users' data by sharing it with China, and that the app was developed using thousands of chips from the US manufacturer Nvidia. The report says Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang directed the company to design a chip that could get around export controls. A corresponding letter to Nvidia seeks information on its chip sales to China and Southeast Asia. Statement follows below. See attached files....
