Broadcom denies superior bargaining power over Samsung in antitrust appeal

A lawyer representing the US chipmaker argued that Samsung had the ability to choose suppliers other than Broadcom, contending that this undermined the claim that Broadcom held a dominant position in its negotiations with the South Korean company. Broadcom is challenging an antitrust fine of 18.6 billion won ($13 million) imposed by the Korea Fair Trade Commission in 2023.Broadcom has denied allegations that it wielded superior bargaining power over Samsung Electronics in the supply of components for smart devices in an appeal hearing at the Seoul High Court today....
