Google’s 'site reputation abuse' policy infringes EU's DMA, publishers say

( April 15, 2025, 13:28 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Several EU media associations today asked the European Commission to "take immediate measures" under the Digital Markets Act against Google’s site reputation abuse policy, which demotes the search ranking of websites carrying third-party content. "Compelling evidence has emerged indicating that Google has been systematically diminishing the reach of media websites through non-transparent manual penalty adjustments and inconsistent policy enforcement," trade groups including News Media Europe and the European Publishers Council say in a press release.Press release is attached....
