LinkedIn must face US health data collection claims, plaintiff argues

( April 11, 2025, 23:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A plaintiff accusing LinkedIn of illegally collecting users’ health data such as medical appointments to be used for targeted advertising through its Insight Tag tool filed an opposition against dismissal. “The claims raised in plaintiff’s [first amended complaint] are not ones of first impression. Notably, the Honorable P. Casey Pitts recently considered a similar case involving a CIPA § 631 claim related to defendant’s use of the LinkedIn Insight Tag on a different website.
