US judge allows new DOGE member to access Treasury payment system

( April 11, 2025, 22:54 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A US federal judge granted the government's request to allow a new member of the Department of Government Efficiency to access Treasury Department payment records and systems. She denied a motion for reconsideration brought by a consortium of states, finding that the Privacy Act and E-Government Act were enacted to protect information pertaining to individuals, not states, and thus their claims fall outside the "zone of interests" protected under those laws.See attached ruling....
