Ericsson ordered to clarify settlement terms with Motorola, third party's conditions

( April 10, 2025, 17:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- The Brazilian competition authortity councilor Gustavo Augusto ordered Ericsson to submit the full version of the patent agreement with Motorola that resolved the companies’ 5G dispute abroad. He also directed the company to disclose the prices and terms agreed for the licensing of 5G-related patents, or clarify whether pricing remains subject to arbitration or a similar mechanism. Additionally, Ericsson must explain the criteria used — or to be used — for granting any potential discount from the previously disclosed rate of $5 per device. Lastly, the decision requires the company to clarify whether the agreed terms will also apply to third parties, in order to ensure non-discriminatory licensing conditions.See full published order attached....
