Democratic state senator joins Montana tribe in Trump tariff challenge

( April 4, 2025, 14:39 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Montana Democratic state Senator Susan Webber joined members of the Blackfeet Nation tribe in Montana to challenge President Donald Trump's sweeping tariffs. The lawsuit, filed in Montana federal court against the US government and the Department of Homeland Security, challenges the constitutionality of the tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China, along with duties on steel and aluminum and the "reciprocal" tariffs announced April 2. The plaintiffs also argue the 1794 Jay’s Treaty excludes indigenous people from the tariffs.See attached file....
