Marketplaces to see more child safety requirements when selling toys online in EU

( April 11, 2025, 13:39 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex summary: Marketplaces will face more requirements to protect children when selling toys online, a revision of the EU's Toy Safety Directive says. They must now design their platforms in such a way that sellers can display safety warnings and a link to the digital product passport. The aim is to ensure the protection of children and fair competition, lawmaker Marion Walsmann from the center-right European People's Party said in a press release. EU governments will have 54 months to comply with the provisions.Statement follows....
