'iVoters' trademark opposition dismissed over descriptiveness, Fed Circuit affirms

Heritage Alliance’s opposition alleged confusion with its marks “iVoterGuide” and “iVoterGuide.com,” but the panel said those marks are highly descriptive and not themselves protectable.Heritage Alliance’s trademarks “iVoterGuide” and “iVoterGuide.com” are too descriptive for trademark protection, the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit wrote yesterday, affirming the dismissal of Heritage’s opposition to the “iVoters” trademark applications....
