US 'assessing' crypto memo's effect on Safemoon executive's trial, filing says

( April 9, 2025, 22:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US federal prosecutors are "internally assessing" the effect, if any, that a Justice Department memo pulling back on cryptocurrency prosecutions will have on the upcoming trial of Safemoon LLC executive Braden John Karony, according to a court filing. Karony alerted the judge to the memo in a filing earlier today. "Regardless of the outcome of any internal assessment, the government is prepared to try this case as scheduled and does not expect that the length of trial, number of witnesses, or volume of evidence will be materially affected," the filing said.Documents attached....
