US DOJ asks court to put US Steel suit against CFIUS in abeyance until June 5

( April 7, 2025, 23:45 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Department of Justice has asked a federal judge to put in abeyance US Steel and Nippon Steel's case accusing the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States of violating due process. In light of President Donald Trump's directive on April 7 for CFIUS to conduct another review of the companies' proposed deal, the US government has now asked the court to put the case in abeyance for 60 days — until June 5 — to give CFIUS time to complete a 45-day review of the merger. See file attachment. ...
