Japanese operator of sexual-crime map website instructed to shut it down by PPC

The website showed crime locations and perpetrators' personal information collected from media reports. The Personal Information Protection Commission said that disclosing such information without the consent of the individuals involved violates Japan's personal-information protection laws. This type of disclosure could also lead to discrimination against those individuals, contravening clauses that prohibit inappropriate data use.
