Taiwan's Cathay United Bank fined in Shanghai for data-security lapses

( April 8, 2025, 05:06 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The China branch of Cathay United Bank, a commercial bank headquartered in Taiwan, was fined 300,000 yuan ($41,000) by Shanghai's financial regulator for inadequate data-security controls, according to a penalty notice issued by the National Administration of Financial Regulation.
