States, Google exchange arguments on jury trial in forthcoming antitrust-privacy trial
( April 4, 2025, 18:07 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google submitted dueling briefs with Texas and 16 other states to a federal judge in Texas in advance of his decision on whether the two sides will face off later this year in a jury trial or a bench trial. The states told US District Judge Sean Jordan that a jury should decide both liability and penalties if Google fails on their consumer protection and antitrust claims. Google said that its "analysis leads to one conclusion: there is no right to a jury on any issue" on either the consumer protection or antitrust side of the case.See attached document....
