Berlin court orders Meta to delete data, pay damages over GDPR breaches

( April 7, 2025, 14:19 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Meta has been ordered by the Berlin Regional Court to disclose how it uses personal data collected via its Meta Business Tools, delete or anonymize affected user data, and pay 2,000 euros in damages to each of six claimants. The court ruled that the company unlawfully processed sensitive personal data, including health and political views, without valid user consent, in violation of the EU General Data Protection Regulation.The statement follows (in German).
