Messenger services see changes to draft EU law against child abuse material

The document, dated April 4 and seen by MLex, shows that the new text places even more emphasis on voluntary scanning rather than introducing the controversial mandatory detection orders foreseen by the EU Commission.Messenger services such as Meta Platform’s WhatsApp and Signal are seeing a new, slightly amended draft on the law on detecting child sexual abuse material, CSAM, after the last proposal from January didn’t get enough support from EU governments (see here and here)....
