Asean should present unified stance against US tariffs, Malaysian PM says

( April 7, 2025, 10:06 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim today said Asean countries must stand firmly together to have a stronger basis when negotiating the new "reciprocal tariffs" announced by the US last week. Anwar said he has had discussions with his counterparts in other Asean countries to coordinate their positions. On Thursday, he said Malaysia's trade ministry will coordinate a meeting with its counterparts to establish a common stance. Malaysia is the chair of Asean this year.The speech is attached....
