Kochava ordered to produce key witness for FTC deposition in US privacy case

( April 4, 2025, 16:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A federal judge ordered Kochava to produce James Benoit for a sworn deposition with US Federal Trade Commission lawyers on April 10, noting the data broker's "recalcitrance" in producing a witness the FTC says is "foundational" to its case. "Although the Court does not make conclusions at this stage, Kochava’s conduct here certainly appears designed to impede, delay, and frustrate the fair examination of Mr. Benoit. The Court expects that Kochava will be cooperative, professional, and competent when scheduling the remaining depositions," US District Judge B. Lynn Winmill said in granting the FTC's emergency motion to compel Benoit's deposition.See attached document....
