Safran wins conditional EU approval for Collins deal

( April 4, 2025, 14:48 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: French aircraft-parts maker Safran has won EU approval for its plan to buy part of Collins Aerospace’s actuation business, with conditions. To secure the clearance, Safran agreed to divest the whole of its North American business making trimmable horizontal stabilizer actuator systems. The European Commission said that addressed concerns the deal would have combined two of the main suppliers of such systems, leaving aircraft manufacturers facing higher prices. The commission said it noted Safran had an agreement to sell the assets to Woodward, and would still need to assess separately whether the US rival is a "suitable" buyer. Statement follows....
