US judge OKs Ross interlocutory appeal, stays case with Thomson Reuters

By Melissa Ritti ( April 4, 2025, 13:59 GMT | Insight) -- US Circuit Judge Stephanos Bibas today stayed copyright infringement litigation between Ross Intelligence and Thomson Reuters while Ross pursues an interlocutory appeal to Bibas’s own US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. In a docket entry, Bibas conceded “substantial grounds for difference of opinion” exist with regard to originality and fair use findings in his February summary judgment. He certified two questions for review, and postponed a trial planned for next month.A bid by Ross Intelligence for early appellate review of a February summary judgment in favor of Thomson Reuters succeeded this morning, when US Circuit Judge Stephanos Bibas agreed that interlocutory appeal is warranted....
