EU's Unified Patent Court approaches 800 cases since launch, update shows

( April 4, 2025, 13:26 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Since its launch in June 2023, the EU's Unified Patent Court has processed 798 cases in its lower court. This includes 289 infringement actions and 285 counterclaims for revocation. The Munich local division is the most active, with 101 infringement filings, followed by Düsseldorf and Mannheim. Additionally, the court has dealt with 57 stand-alone revocation actions and 79 applications for preliminary injunctions. At the appellate level, the Court of Appeal has received 177 appeals and 61 additional applications, which include requests for discretionary review and expedited proceedings.
