Australia will be 'calibrated' in response to 10 percent US tariffs: prime minister

( April 3, 2025, 08:51 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has vowed to be “considered” and “calibrated” in his response to what appears to be a 10 percent tariff on Australian goods imposed by the Trump administration. However, speaking to Australian public radio in Melbourne as part of his campaign ahead of the May 3 election, Albanese didn’t suggest he was ready to impose retaliatory tariffs on US imports. In his “Liberation Day” announcement, US President Donald Trump singled out Australian beef as one target of US tariffs.
