Dealmakers must submit 'long form' notification for complex deals, Australian watchdog says

( April 3, 2025, 02:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Australia’s competition regulator has issued draft guidance for dealmakers in response to last week’s publication by the Australian Treasury of an implementing regulation to clarify aspects of the merger laws, which will come into effect on July 1, 2025. The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission’s provisional guidance, which is open for feedback, focuses on the expectations for dealmakers required to file a “long form” application, for more complex transactions. The watchdog's proposed guidance sets out three categories of mergers that will require applicants to fill out a long form.
