The Ministry of Science and ICT said the Synthetic Biology Promotion Act has passed the parliament’s plenary session and will soon be approved by the Cabinet Council, to be followed by promulgation in a few days and implementation a year later. The act, the first of its kind globally, is designed to encourage national research and development in synthetic biology, establish a legal framework for responsible technology development and promote social understanding and consensus.
