Cigna must face trimmed US case over use of AI to deny treatments

( March 31, 2025, 17:34 GMT | Official Statement) -- Cigna must face US claims that it violated plan terms when it entrusted medical necessity determinations to an algorithm, a US federal judge ruled. District Judge Dale A. Drozd determined that plaintiffs adequately pled a breach of fiduciary duty, denying in-part a motion-to-dismiss.
