Plaintiffs oppose Google motion for judgment in US suit over voice-activated devices

( March 31, 2025, 23:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Plaintiffs suing Google over location tracking on its Android operating system opposed a motion for summary judgment, saying each of the arguments Google raises either seeks to impermissibly relitigate issues the court already decided or presents a classic fact dispute that must be resolved by the jury. “The record is replete with evidence showing that Google not only knew the Assistant frequently activated and recorded individuals in situations where they did speak a hotword, but purposefully used audio resulting from those ‘False Accepts’ to create data sets, train machine learning models, and improve its technology. Google also secretly shared recordings of class members captured by the Assistant with teams of human reviewers around the globe,” they said. See attached file. ...
