US DOJ's Google search remedy requires 'de facto divestiture' of IP, company says

( March 28, 2025, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A "significant volume" of Google's commercially sensitive information will be addressed during a trial over the US Department of Justice's proposed remedy to the company's monopolization of search and search advertising markets, the company told a District of Columbia federal judge. "Plaintiffs also have proposed the de facto divestiture of much of Google’s intellectual property regarding Google Search, including a vast array of trade secrets underpinning Google’s proprietary search index, knowledge graph, ranking signals, and ads auction," Google said in a response to the New York Times' motion for access to judicial records and proceedings.See attached file....
