Olympic Games ticketing policies trigger EU antitrust complaint

( March 31, 2025, 09:58 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The governing body of the Olympic Games and its organizers are the target of a complaint at the EU’s antitrust regulator, alleging their ticketing policies “eliminate competition, inflate prices and limit consumer access to tickets.” The complaint by German ticket resale platform Ticombo to the European Commission alleges that the International Olympic Committee has an “exclusive monopoly” over ticket resales and that it restricts independent resale platforms’ ability to compete.
