EU's AI code doesn't protect fundamental rights, children, NGOs say

( March 31, 2025, 08:42 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Civil society organizations have issued an urgent warning on the EU Code of Practice for AI models, saying that the latest version doesn’t sufficiently protect fundamental rights and children. The joint letter says that the current AI industry frameworks are not enough to comply with the bloc's AI Act, risks related to fundamental rights and children arise both at the AI model and system levels, and the assessment of such risks should be mandatory under the code of practice.Joint statement attached....
