By Hoa Dinh ( March 31, 2025, 04:31 GMT | Insight) -- Vietnam has amended planned rules that will regulate cross-border data transfers under the new Law on Data that will take effect on July 1. Companies that transfer employee data across borders for human resource management purposes are likely to be exempted from submitting a data transfer impact assessment, according to the amended draft decree, and transfers of "important data" will no longer need to wait for prior approval.
