US FTC's Slaughter, Bedoya sue Trump over 'attempted illegal firings'

( March 27, 2025, 17:03 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Rebecca Kelly Slaughter and Alvaro Bedoya filed a lawsuit against President Donald Trump challenging the administration's "improper attempt to fire them." The complaint, filed in the US District Court for the District of Columbia, asked for Trump's attempted removals to be declared "unlawful and ineffective" and for a permanent injunction against FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson, Commissioner Melissa Holyoak and the FTC's executive director "from taking any action that would prevent Plaintiffs from fulfilling their duties as Commissioners and serving out the remainder of their terms."
